{"id":14632,"date":"2020-01-15T19:03:00","date_gmt":"2020-01-15T18:03:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/exgdete.cluster028.hosting.ovh.net\/?p=14632"},"modified":"2020-02-06T19:04:17","modified_gmt":"2020-02-06T18:04:17","slug":"non-renewal-of-the-approval-of-chlorpyrifos-chlorpyrifos-methyl-and-thioclaprid","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.phytocontrol.com\/en\/regulatory-watch\/non-renewal-of-the-approval-of-chlorpyrifos-chlorpyrifos-methyl-and-thioclaprid\/","title":{"rendered":"Non-renewal of the approval of chlorpyrifos, chlorpyrifos-methyl and thioclaprid"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"hover_box\"><div class=\"hover_box_wrapper\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"scale-with-grid visible_photo\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/actu_publication-rasff-2016_02.jpg\" alt=\"Non-renewal of the approval of chlorpyrifos, chlorpyrifos-methyl and thioclaprid\" width=\"\" height=\"\"\/><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"scale-with-grid hidden_photo\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/C\u00e9r\u00e9ales.png\" alt=\"Non-renewal of the approval of chlorpyrifos, chlorpyrifos-methyl and thioclaprid\" width=\"\" height=\"\"\/><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Three new regulations concerning the non-renewal of an active substance have just been published in the OJEU :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>EU implementing regulations <a href=\"https:\/\/eur-lex.europa.eu\/legal-content\/EN\/TXT\/PDF\/?uri=CELEX:32020R0017&amp;qid=1579104217576&amp;from=FR\">n\u00b02020\/17<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/eur-lex.europa.eu\/legal-content\/EN\/TXT\/PDF\/?uri=CELEX:32020R0018&amp;qid=1579104262933&amp;from=FR\">n\u00b02020\/18<\/a> concerning the non-renewal of the approval of the active substances chlorpyrifos and chlorpyrifos methyl.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>These molecules have been banned due to concerns about their genotoxicity and neurotoxicity for development.<br>Member States must withdraw authorisations for plant protection products containing these active substances by 16 February 2020 at the latest.<br>Any grace period granted by Member States for plant protection products containing these active substances shall expire on 16 April 2020 at the latest.<br>The regulation comes into force from 16 January 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The implemented regulation EU <a href=\"https:\/\/eur-lex.europa.eu\/legal-content\/EN\/TXT\/PDF\/?uri=CELEX:32020R0023&amp;qid=1579104295038&amp;from=FR\">2020\/23<\/a> concerns the non-renewal of the approval of the active substance thiacloprid.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This active substance has been banned in France since 2018 along with 4 other neonicotinoids.<br>EFSA identified a key environmental concern with regard to the contamination of groundwater by thiacloprid metabolites but also a concern for human health, as the molecule is classified as a category 1B reproductive toxicant.<br>Member States must withdraw authorisations for plant protection products containing this active substance by 3 August 2020 at the latest.<br>Any grace period granted by Member States for plant protection products containing this active substance shall expire on 3 February 2021 at the latest.<br>The regulation enters into force from 3 February 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Be aware that your Phytocontrol laboratory is able to search for these molecules under COFRAC accreditation in samples of plant origin.
