{"id":17049,"date":"2020-02-10T10:48:00","date_gmt":"2020-02-10T09:48:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.phytocontrol.com\/?p=17049"},"modified":"2020-03-13T10:48:46","modified_gmt":"2020-03-13T09:48:46","slug":"eu-council-approves-provisional-agreement-on-the-revision-of-the-edch-directive","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.phytocontrol.com\/en\/regulatory-watch\/eu-council-approves-provisional-agreement-on-the-revision-of-the-edch-directive\/","title":{"rendered":"EU Council approves provisional agreement on the revision of the EDCH Directive"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"hover_box\"><div class=\"hover_box_wrapper\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"scale-with-grid visible_photo\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/Eau-en-bouteille.png\" alt=\"EU Council approves provisional agreement on the revision of the EDCH Directive\" width=\"\" height=\"\"\/><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"scale-with-grid hidden_photo\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/actu_publication-rasff-2016_02.jpg\" alt=\"EU Council approves provisional agreement on the revision of the EDCH Directive\" width=\"\" height=\"\"\/><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On 5 February 2020, the\nPermanent Representatives Committee (COREPER) of the Council confirmed the\nprovisional agreement reached on 18 December 2019 with the European Parliament\non the proposal for the revision of Directive 98\/83\/EC on the quality of water\nintended for human consumption.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The draft updates the water\nquality criteria and introduces a risk assessment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Requirements for materials\nin contact with water have also been included in the text.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>New substances are included\nin the control plan, including the addition of endocrine disrupters and\nmedicinal products (beta-oestradiol, nonylphenol, bisphenol A). These\namendments will be adopted one year after the entry into force of the\nDirective.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Committee on the\nEnvironment, Public Health and Food Safety (ENVI) is expected to vote on the\ncompromise agreement on 18 February 2020 and the political agreement will be\nsubmitted to the Environment Council at its meeting on 5 March 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The directive will enter\ninto force 20 days after its publication in the OJEU.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You will find below the link\nto the draft directive :<br>\nProposal for a Directive of the European Parliament and of the Council on the\nquality of water intended for human consumption<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You will find details of our accreditations on our COFRAC technical appendix N\u00b01-6066.
