{"id":19467,"date":"2020-09-03T09:28:00","date_gmt":"2020-09-03T07:28:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.phytocontrol.com\/?p=19467"},"modified":"2020-09-15T09:30:35","modified_gmt":"2020-09-15T07:30:35","slug":"end-of-use-for-chlorpropham","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.phytocontrol.com\/en\/regulatory-watch\/end-of-use-for-chlorpropham\/","title":{"rendered":"End of use for Chlorpropham!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"hover_box\"><div class=\"hover_box_wrapper\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"scale-with-grid visible_photo\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Pommes-de-terre.png\" alt=\"End of use for Chlorpropham!\" width=\"\" height=\"\"\/><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"scale-with-grid hidden_photo\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/drapeau_france.jpg\" alt=\"End of use for Chlorpropham!\" width=\"\" height=\"\"\/><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We informed you in June 2019: EU <a href=\"https:\/\/eur-lex.europa.eu\/legal-content\/FR\/TXT\/PDF\/?uri=CELEX:32019R0989&amp;qid=1561039593879&amp;from=FR\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Regulation 2019\/989<\/a> signed the non-renewal of the approval of the active substance Chlorpropham.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This active ingredient\nis used in plant protection products as a sprout inhibitor, mainly on potatoes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On June 18, 2017, EFSA\nestablished that chlorpropham and its main metabolite, 3-chloroaniline, expose\nthe consumer to acute and chronic dietary risks. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The European\nregulation had set a date for the withdrawal of authorizations for plant\nprotection products containing chlorpropham no later than January 8, 2020 and a\ngrace period granted to member states set at October 8, 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>France withdrew the marketing authorizations of commercial solutions containing Chlorpropham as of January 8, 2020 with a distribution <strong>deadline set for July 8, 2020 and an end of use date set for August 8, 2020.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The use of chlorpropham i<strong>s therefore no longer authorized on French crops since August 8, 2020.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other plant protection\nproducts based on 1,4-Dimethylnaphthalene and mint oil have replaced\nChlorpropham.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The current MRL on\nPotatoes remains at 10mg\/kg until new MRLs are voted by the European\nCommission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Know that our\nlaboratory carries out the analysis of Chlorpropham under COFRAC accreditation\n(Scope N\u00b01-1904 available on the COFRAC website).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Need technical, regulatory and pricing information ?
