It sets maximum levels of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in powders of foodstuffs of plant origin used for the preparation of beverages with the exception of products based on cocoa beans and fibers:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Benzo (a) pyrene = 10 \u00b5g \/ kg<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Sum of Benzo (a) pyrene, Benz (a) anthracene, Benzo (b) fluoranthene and Chrysene = 50 \u00b5g \/ kg<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These levels have been established so that good drying\npractices are applied to these powders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The regulation also provides for an unlimited time\nderogation for the local production and consumption of certain meat, meat\nproducts, fish and fishery products, traditionally smoked, in some Member\nStates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Member States may authorize the placing on the market of\nthese products on their territory and intended for consumption on their\nterritory, provided that they comply with the maximum levels applicable before\n1 September 2014, i.e. 5 \u03bcg \/ kg for benzo ( a) pyrene and 30 \u03bcg \/ kg for the\nsum of benzo (a) pyrene, benz (a) anthracene, benzo (b) fluoranthene and\nchrysene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The regulation is applicable from September 28, 2020,\nhowever article 2 of the regulation specifies that food powders of plant origin\nlegally placed on the market before 09\/28\/2020 can remain on the market until\n03\/28\/2020. \/ 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please note that our laboratory carries out the analysis of\nPAHs on products of plant and animal origin under COFRAC accreditation (Scope N\n\u00b0 1-1904 available on the COFRAC website).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> Need technical, regulatory and tariff information?
