{"id":30209,"date":"2023-09-13T09:37:27","date_gmt":"2023-09-13T07:37:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.phytocontrol.com\/?p=30209"},"modified":"2023-10-02T09:38:11","modified_gmt":"2023-10-02T07:38:11","slug":"changes-to-mrls-regulations-2023-1719-and-2023-1753","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.phytocontrol.com\/en\/regulatory-watch\/changes-to-mrls-regulations-2023-1719-and-2023-1753\/","title":{"rendered":"Changes to MRLs &#8211; Regulations 2023\/1719 and 2023\/1753"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"hover_box\"><div class=\"hover_box_wrapper\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"scale-with-grid visible_photo\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/choux.png\" alt=\"Changes to MRLs &#8211; Regulations 2023\/1719 and 2023\/1753\" width=\"\" height=\"\"\/><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"scale-with-grid hidden_photo\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/actu_publication-rasff-2016_02.jpg\" alt=\"Changes to MRLs &#8211; Regulations 2023\/1719 and 2023\/1753\" width=\"\" height=\"\"\/><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Two new regulations modifying MRLs have just been published by the European Commission:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/eur-lex.europa.eu\/legal-content\/FR\/TXT\/?uri=CELEX%3A32023R1719&amp;qid=1694445561172\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>EU regulation 2023\/1719<\/strong><\/a> modifies the MRLs for the following residues: <strong>isoxaben, metaldehyde, paclobutrazol<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The MRL for <strong>isoxaben <\/strong>has been set at <strong>0.05 mg\/kg <\/strong>for gherkins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>MRLs for <strong>metaldehyde <\/strong>on cabbage (inflorescence development) increase from 0.4 mg\/kg to <strong>0.7 mg\/kg<\/strong>. MRLs for cabbage leaves increase from 0.4 mg\/kg to <strong>6 mg\/kg<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additional data confirmed that the current MRLs for <strong>paclobutrazol on <\/strong>pome fruits (apples, pears, quinces, medlars, loquats), apricots and peaches were appropriate. They have not been modified.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The regulation applies from <strong>27\/09\/2023<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/eur-lex.europa.eu\/legal-content\/FR\/TXT\/?uri=CELEX%3A32023R1753&amp;qid=1694507705648\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>EU regulation 2023\/1753<\/strong><\/a> modifies <strong>pyriproxyfen <\/strong>MRLs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>MRLs for citrus fruit are raised from 0.6 mg\/kg to <strong>0.7 mg\/kg<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The MRL for cherries is raised from 1 to <strong>1.5 mg\/kg<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>MRL for kumquats increased from 0.05 mg\/kg to <strong>0.5 mg\/kg<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>MRLs for apples are reduced from 0.2 mg\/kg to <strong>0.05 mg\/kg<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>MRLs for tomatoes are reduced from 1 to <strong>0.7 mg\/kg<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>MRLs for sweet peppers\/peppers and eggplants are reduced from 1 to <strong>0.6 mg\/kg<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>MRLs for edible-skinned cucurbits rise to <strong>0.04 mg\/kg<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The MRL for watermelon is reduced from 0.05 mg\/kg to <strong>0.02 mg\/kg<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The limit of determination for nuts, pome fruits (except apples), berries and small fruits (except strawberries), miscellaneous fruits with edible skin (except kumquats), with inedible skin and small size, with inedible skin and large size (except bananas, mangoes and papayas), root vegetables, tuber vegetables, bulb vegetables, pumpkins, sweet corn, root vegetables, leaf vegetables, leguminous vegetables, stem vegetables, moss and lichen mushrooms, dried legumes, oilseeds (except cottonseeds), oil fruits, cereals, sugar plants and animal products is <strong>0.01 mg\/kg<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The determination limit for edible herbs and flowers and mangoes has been raised to <strong>0.02 mg\/kg<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Article 2 of this regulation specifies that the old MRLs will continue to apply to products obtained or imported into the EU before April 2, 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This regulation applies from <strong>02\/04\/2024<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Phytocontrol laboratory offers pesticide residue analysis under COFRAC accreditation.
