According to EFSA&#8217;s 2015 scientific opinion, nickel can have both chronic (risk of miscarriage) and acute (eczematous rash) effects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Maximum levels have been set for the following categories:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Nuts<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Vegetables<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Algae<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Oilseeds<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cereals<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cocoa and chocolate products<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Baby food<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fruit juice<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>As some of the foodstuffs covered by this regulation have a long shelf-life or can be processed into products with a similarly long shelf-life, products legally placed on the market before the regulation&#8217;s implementation date are allowed to remain on the market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These limits will apply from July 1<sup>er<\/sup> 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Your Phytocontrol laboratory is COFRAC accredited to detect nickel and other metals in foodstuffs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can consult our COFRAC technical appendix N\u00b01-1904 available in your customer area or on the COFRAC website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Need technical, regulatory or pricing information?
