{"id":8049,"date":"2019-01-29T09:07:32","date_gmt":"2019-01-29T08:07:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.phytocontrol.com\/?p=8049"},"modified":"2019-01-29T09:07:32","modified_gmt":"2019-01-29T08:07:32","slug":"draft-mrls-chlorates-in-consultation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.phytocontrol.com\/en\/regulatory-watch\/draft-mrls-chlorates-in-consultation\/","title":{"rendered":"Draft MRLs Chlorates in consultation"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"hover_box\"><div class=\"hover_box_wrapper\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"scale-with-grid visible_photo\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/laitue.png\" alt=\"Draft MRLs Chlorates in consultation\" width=\"\" height=\"\"\/><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"scale-with-grid hidden_photo\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/actu_publication-rasff-2016_02.jpg\" alt=\"Draft MRLs Chlorates in consultation\" width=\"\" height=\"\"\/><\/div><\/div>\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>On 21 January 2019, the European Commission published a draft regulation on the establishment of EU MRLs for the active substance Chlorate.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>To date, the EU MRL for chlorates is set at 0.01mg\/kg, the default MRL, on all matrices.<\/p>\n<p>All authorisations for plant protection products containing chlorate have been withdrawn following Decision 2008\/865\/EC.<\/p>\n<p>Chlorates can also come from the use of chlorinated disinfectants in food but also from treated drinking water.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>For several years, discussions have been ongoing between Member States to set up EU MRLs.
