Phytocontrol has developed a new multi-colour analysis method by LC-MS/MS

for prohibited dyes and those authorised by European regulations.

Some of the most common additives are antioxidants, emulsifiers, stabilizers, thickeners, preservatives, sweeteners and colourings. They are added as ingredients during manufacture for technological or organoleptic reasons. Food colourings are added to foods to compensate for colour loss, enhance natural colours, or artificially colour a food or ingredient. In France, the DGCCRF controls authorised colourings with low acceptable daily intakes (ADI) and 2 non-authorised colourings in confectionery products: amaranth E123 and erythrosine E 127.

Phytocontrol has developed an innovative analysis method in LC-MS/MS allowing the search for 21 prohibited colourings in spices, condiments, sauces and compound foods.
Among the prohibited colouring agents sought, you will find the various SUDAN, ORANGE II or RHODAMINE B which are frequently the subject of European alerts.
Phytocontrol also established a multicoloring food analysis by UFLC (14 colourings).
